WELCOME TO THE NEW WEST VALLEY, OREGON SPOTLIGHT BLOG!!

I can't wait to start featuring small businesses, direct selling businesses, and entrepreneurs from the West Valley area! The area that I will focus on includes (but not limited to):

  • Sheridan
  • Willamina
  • Grande Rhonde
  • Ballston

If you are a new reader, Here's a little about myself:

My name is Kira Sandoval. I've been blogging since 2006. This is but one of 5 blogs I write. I'm currently a single mom of 3 kiddos; my oldest will be a junior in high school in the fall, my middle will be a freshman in high school, and my youngest will be a kindergartner! I hold a double bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Business Management. :)  I grew up in Northern California, just 25 min north of San Francisco. I'm now living in North Western Oregon, in Yamhill County. Funny thing is, I moved out of California's Wine Valley to live in Oregon's Wine Valley! Believe it or not, I didn't like wine until I moved up here! ;)

Over the last 8 years, I've held a few good jobs and a few crazy jobs, and I've also dabbled in a few different Direct Selling companies, with my two favorite being Mia Bella/Scent-sations, and Noah's Ark Animal Workshop. In 2009 I had a family emergency that forced me to move out of the country for a while, so I had to quit my DS jobs. In 2011, I finally was able to get back stateside, and the first thing I did was sign back up with Mia Bella. It's been a struggle, in a new state, but I'm just now starting to get my name out there more. I also work full time as an Educational Assistant for an elementary school.

Originally, this blog started in 2006 as the Spotlight on Working Mamas, as I frequented many online work-from-home forums. Each week (sometimes just once a month) I featured a fellow online mom who was working from home, at least part time, and did a Q&A with them, along with a small "spotlight" on what they did from home. Slowly, my blog gained followers, and then after a good year of blogging, I had many a change on the home front, preventing me from being able to blog. In 2008, I tried to re-start the blog, but this time a family emergency prevented me from blogging. Jump forward to 2014, and I am finally in a stable environment and MORE than ready to blog again. Only this time I'm making a change to this blog and featuring local businesses, direct sales representatives, and entrepreneurs! I want to help my friends in the West Valley bring more people and more business to our area. This was the best way I could think of to do just that.

Starting out, I will only feature one business per month. As the blog grows I would love to be able to feature one business a week!

So, if you are reading this for the first time, and are a resident of the West Valley, let me know if you have a business you would like to have featured, or know someone that would love to be featured, send them my way! You can comment on this blog or you mail email me directly at kiraleesandoval@gmail.com.

I look forward to putting the Spotlight on YOUR business!!
